The challenges I faced was a lack of self-love and true identity in Christ. I
was a repeat offender sabotaging relationships due to not knowing my true
value and worth.
My sessions with Eddie helped me overcome personal and relationship
challenges. His skillful use of applying biblical principles with relationship
strategies provided the tools that led me through a 5-year awakening of who
God says I am and that I am wonderfully and beautifully made. He helped me
to ask the right questions of myself and others, as well as showed me to stand
in the truth of my authentic self.
How am I doing now? At 60, the man that God has purposed for me has
shown up in my life and I am experiencing what a "healthy marriage" looks
like! In fact, Eddie provided our premarital counseling and officiated our
wedding. I stand now in an authentic love that surpasses all understanding!

Every other counseling/premarital class seemed cookie-cutter with no customized process. We knew that our marriage was unique, and we needed specific guidance. Our main challenge was stubbornness; I wouldn't bend, and she was not going to break.
The sessions with Eddie took our minds off of our selfish ways and on his relationship strategies, which taught us how to hone in on areas we both needed to mature. We learned a lot about ourselves and how we both needed to grow up!

My wife and I were dealing with serious issues in our marriage. There was a total communication breakdown and a lack of emotional connection between us. We both were dealing with a lot. Personally, I was struggling with securing steady employment, a death in the family, and dealing with depression. Our family was on the brink of collapse. We tried other counselors, but never connected with any of them.
Eddie was recommended through a good friend who shared that he had relatable insight,
incredible wisdom, perspective with our situation and relationship strategies from biblical
principles for success. After several one on one and couples sessions with Eddie, we learned how
to communicate with each other better, understand each other's emotions, and received the
necessary tools to support each other on a deeper level. This also led to us working together as a
team in raising our children. For me, Eddie helped me get a grasp on how to deal with my
depression and to understand why I was feeling the way I felt. His guidance from biblical
principles helped me to understand my role as a husband and father.
Eddie really helped us get our marriage back on track! As with all marriages, we have challenges
but have the tools to get through them and keep moving forward. We celebrate with each
other and make more time for us. Eddie has really shown us how to be better for each
other and our children. His biblical advice and relationship strategies have given us the faith-
based tools to see things outside of ourselves. Thank you, Eddie!

I've attended counseling sessions, both individual and as a couple, with Eddie for more
than 2 years now. It's been a life changing and spiritually moving experience!
A fairly short courtship led to our engagement, then marriage, and later our first child a
little more than a year after the wedding. Needless to say, the communication and level
of connection in our marriage declined as our new life together rapidly unfolded. The
global pandemic only intensified the issues and ongoing challenges we'd been facing.
My husband and I had been to other counselors prior to Eddie but nothing ever felt
genuine or effective for our specific season, life, and marriage.
Eddie was referred to us by a close friend who had also been a client. In what I
considered a "final attempt" to salvage our relationship, I agreed to couples counseling
with Eddie. I was immediately intrigued by his highly in depth, personalized process that
goes "below the surface" to address topics like communication, compatibility, family,
spirituality, emotional intimacy and so many other critical aspects of our
marriage and family. His knowledge of faith-based principles and willingness to share
wisdom based upon his own personal testimony has helped guide me through the
darkest moments of my life.
Eddie's passion for helping others live a next level life continues to bless me, my
family, and loved ones - beyond any words. This year, my husband and I celebrated a
marriage anniversary that I truly didn't think we'd make it to. We continue putting in
work, using tools we've learned in our sessions and are in a far better place than we've
ever been. We still have sessions with Eddie. I think we always will! I'm so grateful that
he's someone we can "do life" with and that he's invested in our growth as
individuals and a couple. This is truly what makes him stand out from other counselors
who completely disengaged once the session ended. Whether you're experiencing life
trauma, working towards healing from trauma or simply seeking direction on the current
path, Eddie's counseling approach provides perspective, transparency, and growth for
the journey ahead.

I was a burned-out Fixer for family and friends while struggling with unhealed trauma which made me vulnerable to attracting an incompatible mate into my life. After many sessions with Eddie, I was able to reconnect with my true identity and learn how to establish boundaries. Now I am taking much-needed time to reset, heal, and refocus my attention on seeking a more purpose-filled life.

When I met Eddie, I was in a 6-year unhealthy living-together relationship. My self-esteem was incredibly low, I tolerated emotional and verbal abuse, disrespect, and a lack of appreciation. I loved and financially took care of my girlfriend’s children as if they were mine.
I was referred to Eddie by one of his clients. My sessions with Eddie revealed the root of my acceptance for emotional abuse and toxicity. Through his process, I developed self-respect and learned to set healthy boundaries. Eddie also assisted us with ending the relationship amicably and how to maintain healthy contact with her children. Our sessions taught me to heal, love myself, and maintain a routine of self-care. When I met Eddie, I was a mess. I had just left an abusive marriage. My
spouse vowed to love and protect me. Instead, he beat me down physically,
emotionally, and mentally. I was drained and lost all hope.
On our first session I felt hopeful and loved that Eddie shared his experiences.
Our sessions were based on biblical principles and that drew me closer to
Christ. I started studying God’s Word and Eddie suggested that I start and
maintain a gratitude journal to remind me of God’s love. Whenever I start to
feel depressed, I snap out of it by remembering that Eddie taught me that I
am an overcomer, God will see me through every challenge, and that I am a
child of the King!
I look forward to my sessions with Eddie! When we talk now it’s more of a
praise report. I am working, thriving, and have applied his strategies in my
new healthy relationship! We are in premarital counseling with Eddie, and I
am loving life again! I have so much hope for the future!

I write on behalf of Eddie Pratt as a teacher, preacher, and life coach/counselor.
Eddie’s tenure as a regular preacher at Dallas Life Homeless Recovery Center spans over 12 years. As the Chaplain/Director of Spiritual Life at the Dallas Life Homeless Recovery Center, I’ve personally known Eddie for three years and have heard him speak on over 100 occasions. With enthusiasm and without any reservation, I recommend Eddie as an exemplary communicator of God’s truth to help people live better.
There are many styles and goals of teaching. Unfortunately, too many teachers and preachers deliver information without providing clear application. Happily, Eddie’s style is radically different, because he teaches for life transformation. He provides essential content and then spends the bulk of his time and effort showing how it can be applied, lived out, and transform individuals in his audience.
Eddie appeals to a wide audience. He amalgamates his life experience, wisdom, training, and command of the Scriptures into each session, and in so doing consistently speaks to every person in the room. At Dallas Life, he is one of the favorite chapel speakers because he reaches people with transforming truth spoken in love.
As a fellow minister of the gospel, I think it is essential for teachers and preachers to be actively engaged in the lives of their audiences: “Good shepherds need to smell like their sheep.” Eddie stands in the middle of his sheep, living life with them as he offers guidance and healing.
